Join Made Smarter Innovation for an interactive session on how artificial intelligence is transforming the manufacturing sector. Following on from the Exploring AI Business Opportunities in Manufacturing webinar series held in spring, and an engaging panel session at the AI Summit (where Made Smarter Innovation brought the conversation to the doorstep of AI innovators), the activity continues as the three themes of Sustainability, Productivity and Resilience are presented in one 60-minute session. Three AI experts will share their cutting-edge insights and case studies demonstrating the tangible benefits of AI in creating a more sustainable, productive, and resilient manufacturing landscape.

Dr Becky Bolton works within the Industrial Technology and Manufacturing team as a Knowledge Transfer Manager in Advanced Manufacturing. Her role is to engage with businesses and innovators in the UK Manufacturing sector to support growth and innovation on the path to achieving net zero. She also supports the Made Smarter and Reimagining Materials and Manufacturing programmes.
Becky can assist you in identifying funding and investment opportunities, involve you in their events and connect you across their innovation network, and inspire you with the latest innovation within their communities. Her goal is to advance the industry through digitalisation and other technological enhancements for the benefit of the UK economy and a greener future.
Before joining Innovate UK Business Connect, Becky was a technology transfer fellow at SPECIFIC, Swansea University, where her aim was to bridge the gap between academia and industry as she worked on the scale-up of novel perovskite solar technology. During both her doctorate and postdoctoral positions, she developed a passion for industrial manufacturing and the problem-solving talent required to go from lab-scale to commercial-scale. She has an EngD in Materials Science and Engineering, specialised in electrochemistry and corrosion prevention.
Jack is a co-founder of Ada Mode and leads the development of custom AI solutions in civil nuclear, renewables and manufacturing. Jack is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with a background in power station management, digital innovation and plant optimisation. Jack has managed the UK’s first commercial scale biogas plant and has led large-scale digital innovation and optimisation projects within the UK’s civil nuclear and manufacturing sectors. Jack led the development of Sellafield’s AI strategy and is now delivering an industrial decarbonisation model for the Solent region.
Sahin holds a BSc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University with a minor in Physics. He performed his master degree in Berlin Technical University, Energy Institute on developing an Energy Operating System for Commercial Buildings. Right after his graduation, Sahin worked as R&D Engineer at MIT. After his R&D experience, he founded Faradai with a vision of being the leader AI-powered data analytics solution for energy & sustainability. Currently he is serving as the CEO of parent company Faradai and the company has already acquired hundreds of customers in 40 different countries all around the world, backed by IFC funded Capria Ventures, Sangha Capital, Actai Ventures and Edenbase.
Sahin is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and he specialized in IoT and Data Science applications for data driven energy & sustainability management in facilities. He serves as board member in Turkish Informatics Foundation & Horizon 2030 - Eurogia 2030. He is angel investor and and board member of Silicon Valley based Metacognitive AI.
Alina is the Chief Product Officer and co-founder of Turation, an Industrial AI startup based in Cambridge. Turation specialises in creating advanced AI solutions for manufacturing applications where data is either scarce or costly to collect. Their current focus is on creating an AI Assistant for visual inspection in made-to-order small-batch components manufacturing, such as CNC-milled, 3D-printed, or composite parts to reduce the cost of poor quality and shorten lead times.
As a public speaker in the field of Collaborative Intelligence, Alina focuses on the intersection of AI and manufacturing. She explores how augmented teams can enhance manufacturing efficiency, the essential skills manufacturers need to collaborate effectively with AI tools, and how to develop AI solutions that best support human operators in production environments.
Previously, Alina led the development of Arline Quantum, an AI project optimising resource utilisation in current-generation quantum computers, and Arline Benchmarks, the first open-source platform for automated quantum compiler benchmarking, recognised as one of the top open-source projects by OpenUK. She has also held senior tech roles at ViShare, a Hong Kong video streaming hardware company backed by Samsung, and Snowfall Systems, a New York fintech startup. Alina earned her PhD in Physics from the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, focusing on digital spectrometry for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER, Cadarache, France) and research in boron neutron capture therapy for cancer treatment.
