Activities such as assessing total carbon footprint across the entire lifecycle of a product and identifying areas of opportunities to reduce negative environmental footprint across the span - from manufacturing to field operations, to ultimate end-of-life of a product – are intensifying, across all industry segments.
While there are many varied pathways towards more sustainable future, one thing is certain: they are all centred around adoption of eco-efficient practices and development of new technologies. Given the breadth, depth and technical sophistication of challenges engineers will continue to face to develop and scale up these new technologies, engineering simulations are integral to meeting the environmental sustainability needs of the future.
