Ross Herbert joined Leonardo back in 2011 as a technical apprentice within the Mechanical Engineering function. He has worked in a number of Design Engineering roles at the company in both Radar and Advanced Targeting sectors and has been involved with Leonardo’s adoption of Additive Manufacturing since 2016 where he oversaw the company’s 3D prototyping facilities in Edinburgh. Since 2018, he has been involved in the design, development and qualification of various additive manufactured systems, and since 2022, Ross has been responsible for the company’s strategy on AM adoption across all of its UK sites, overseeing activities on developing qualification and certification processes for critical applications, upskilling the engineering workforce, developing a robust AM supply chain and promoting the technology to continuously drive innovation in the company.
